At age 21, Sir Stafford won Gold at the 34th Annual Seishin Kai World Karate Championship in Osaka Japan, after winning Silver the year before. It was a monumental achievement as this was the first time a foreigner won the title in 34 years.

At the World Karate Championship, Sir Stafford met the sponsor of the Hungarian Karate Team and was introduced to the International Bodyguard and Security Services Association (IBSSA). Through his involvement in martial arts, his second business career got it’s start. Sir Samuel J Stafford decided to start a security company but with a difference.
